Minimum requirements

  • Windows 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP (XP recommended)
  • 256 MB of RAM or better.
  • 200 MHz or faster CPU (Pentium or AMD)
  • 3D graphics card with OpenGL support (if no graphics card, you can use software rendering which requires a 400 MHz or faster Pentium III CPU).
  • Program installation takes approximately 10 MB of disk space
  • Display set to greater than 800 x 600 pixels.

The minimum system requirements for RockWorks2002 may vary, depending on the type of data you will be processing and the types of diagrams you will be creating and viewing.

For example, a ternary diagram plot displayed in RockPlot2D and created from a simple datasheet may require fewer resources than a dense solid model manipulated in RockPlot3D and created from detailed downhole geochemistry data.

In general, the more RAM, the faster the processor, the newer the operating system, the better.
